the best lemon cake

i love lemons.... like um maybe so much that i will suck on them.... hahahaha don't judge. which is why i made this amazing lemon cake that is just so moist and just too good to be true!!


makes one 9 by 9 cake

1 1/2 cup flour

2 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp salt

1 stick butter (melted)

1 cup granulated sugar

2 eggs

1/2 cup milk

3 tsp lemon zest

juice from 3 lemons

for the frosting.....

3 cup powdered sugar

2-3 tbls milk

1 stick butter



1. preheat oven to 350of and prepare a 9 by 9 pan

2. in a large bowl whisk together the butter and sugar until combined into a sticky mix

3. add in the eggs and whisk in until just combined

4. put in the lemon juice, and zest. whisk up and set aside

5. in a separate bowl combine the flour, baking soda, powder, and salt.

6. slowly add in half of the flour mixture to the butter mix. mix it all up until just combined. when done add in the other half and mix.

7. put the batter in the pan and bake for about 25- 35 minute or until a toothpick come out clean.

8. to make the frosting.... in a stand up mixer cream butter for about 30 seconds. add in the powdered sugar and mix until it is combined and creamed together. add in milk until it is nice and creamy.

9. when the cake is cooled add the buttercream on top of the cake and place an assortment of berries and fruits... i chose raspberries blueberries and some lemons slice into 1/8 inch pieces and baked at 420 for about 10 minutes.... supa cute!!
